Partner Communications Launches Multi-Gigabit Fiber Service in Israel

Apr 08, 2023

Partner Communications, the second largest mobile operator in Israel, also operates a fiber optic broadband network that passes through nearly one million homes and connects hundreds of thousands of fiber optic customers.

To remain competitive in a market where fiber is in high demand, it needed a modern fiber access solution to attract new customers and connect them efficiently. The company selected Adtran's open, disaggregated 10Gb/s fiber access platform to enable rapid delivery of multi-gigabit services to millions of homes and businesses.

Built using software-defined access principles, the Adtran platform is designed to provide efficient vendor and technology onboarding to accelerate network buildout and service delivery. Combo PON technology enables Partner Communications to offer a mix of GPON and XGS-PON services in the same infrastructure using a single access port. This simplifies the migration to multi-gigabit services as demand increases, while saving space and power.

We have competition in the market in Israel," said Yaniv Bar-Gil, head of Partner Communications' fiber infrastructure division. We have to offer higher Internet speeds and deliver them quickly. We have seen high market demand for our multi-gigabit service tiers. Adtran's solution simplifies our network operations and reduces our costs to expand fiber broadband."

Ronan Kelly, Adtran's EMEA and APAC regional CTO, added, "Like many service providers, Partner Communications needs to be able to rapidly deploy efficient FTTH technology through an open architecture to increase service speeds while reducing operational costs. Our open and disaggregated fiber access solutions create simpler, sustainable and scalable networks."
